The Montgomery College Library provides access to many e-books, available through RaptorSearch, or individual e-book platforms and databases.
If you are looking for free open access e-books available to anyone online, we recommend the following websites:
- Directory of Open Access Books: a community-driven discovery service that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books and helps users to find trusted open access book publishers. All DOAB services are free of charge and all data is freely available.
- InternetArchive Free Books: contains a wide range of fiction, popular books, children's books, historical texts, and academic books.
- Project Gutenberg: Choose among free epub and Kindle eBooks, download them or read them online. You will find the world’s great literature here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired.
Open access e-books are free and include older titles and/or titles in the public domain that are not subject to copyright provisions.
