An efficient way to find articles on your topic is to search a library online database.  The MC Library provides access to full-text articles online and in print.

What is an online database?

The term "online database” is used to describe an electronic collection of organized data. A few examples include journal, magazine and newspaper articles.  Databases can be multidisciplinary (covering a range of subjects) or subject specific (on a specific discipline such as nursing or art or psychology).  Databases are searchable, often contain full-text articles and provide citation information. The library obtains licensing agreements and pays for subscriptions to our online databases.

How do I find and select a library database/s to use?

To determine which database to use, go to the library homepage and select the Databases by Subject link. After you access the Databases by Subject link, you will see all our subjects. Depending on your research topic, you will decide which subject fits your needs. Select that subject to see the databases specific for that area of research. Then select the database you choose and type your keywords into the search box.

How do I find and select an article/s?

The search results list from your keyword search will provide you with many different sources such as journals, magazines, and newspaper articles.Read the articles, choose the articles that you need, and then you can either print the article or e-mail it to yourself for later use.

Remember, if you are doing your research from off campus, you will be asked to log-in using your M number. If you need further assistance, please connect with a librarian or contact the service desk at your campus library.
