Yes, you can use the library even if you are not a student.

  • The MC Library is open to the public and anyone is welcome to use our facilities and resources.
  • If you are not currently affiliated with the College as a student or employee, you can still use the library as a community user.

What should/does a community member need to do?

  • Community users must obtain a community user card for the MC Library.
  • We do not accept Montgomery County Public Library cards or cards issued by other colleges.
  • Residents of Maryland or the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years of age are eligible.
  • To obtain a card, you must present a photo ID listing your current address, such as a driver's license, at a library service desk.

To learn more about what you can borrow as a community user, visit our Community User Guidelines page. Note that community users cannot access the library's e-resources from off campus.
