Each campus library provides group study rooms that allow groups to study without bothering the other students.  The library does not provide quiet rooms for a single studentGroup study rooms are only available for MC students and faculty.

Germantown Campus Library - 2 group study rooms

Rockville Campus Library - 2 group study rooms

Takoma Park/Silver Spring - 5 group study rooms

  1. Nothing quiet about the quiet study floors in Rockville during the regular semester. Loud banter about the next party and who is dating who not sure if a lot of project collaboration is going on :) A little more quiet on off hours and the winter/summer semesters.

  2. We appreciate your concerns about the quiet study floor at Rockville. I have forwarded your comment to the managers of that campus library, and of course, you are always welcome to contact a staff member at the library and bring up the situation to be handled immediately.

  3. Since there are no rooms for single students, are there other options? Sometimes I have to do online meetings with other students and professors, but have limited internet connection at home. And the longer library hours are more convenient than the public library, especially evening/late night meetings.

  4. Unfortunately, at this time there are no other options in the Libraries. If you are using a laptop or other personal device, the College has extensive WiFi and areas in campus buildings which could be used for this purpose. However, I will forward your comment to the Libraries leadership, which can then take this into consideration.
